In 2007, the establishment of Gardner’s House, Inc., heralded Maggie Gardner’s mission to improve the course of personal recovery from cancer, and particularly for those living within Hartford’s most disadvantaged neighborhoods.
Through Gardner’s House, Maggie provides respite care to cancer survivors through a culturally-responsive combination of peer-based support and guidance, which has already proved an invaluable resource to scores of people and their families. Maggie understands the nature of advocacy, as well as compassionate care for the elderly, and demonstrates that in her service and faith.
